The Green Valley Fire Safe Council, Fire Safe Solano, and Yolo Fire Safe Council are offering this Home Hardening webinar for residents. Home hardening is one of the most important steps a home owner can take to protect their homes from wildfire ignitions. The speaker, Yana  Valachovic, is a Forest Advisor with

UC Cooperative Extension in Agriculture and Natural Resources. Ms. Valachovic will provide in depth steps and tips for home owners to take to prepare, and protect, their home for wildfire. This free webinar is sponsored by 100 Club of Solano and Yolo Counties and Elevate Sustainable Solutions.

Surviving Wildfire Webinar – April 26th, 2021 – 4:00-5:30 p.m.


Join us and CAL FIRE Battalion Chief Aaron Latta for the Surviving Wildfire Webinar on April 26th. The webinar will begin with an overview of the The Current State of Wildfire in California: Why We Must Act Now presented by Chief Latta. Solano County Office of Emergency Services Director, Don Ryan, will speak on evacuations, followed by two experienced experts on wildfire, natural resource management and forestry. Yana Valachovic, Forest Advisor and Humboldt – Del Norte County Director at UC California University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, will share what we can do to hardened our home against wildfire and then Tracy Katelman, Professional Registered Forester, will guide us through the steps to create defensible space. The webinar will wrap up with a panel of community citizens who have helped communities prepare for wildfire and community evacuation.

Ribbon Cutting May 1st, 2021 – 9:00 a.m.

The Green Valley Fire Safe Council has been working hard to prepare the community for wildfire. Come show your support by attending the Ribbon cutting Ceremony on May 1st at 9:00 a.m. and meet our members who have been working hard on behalf of the community. We have resources to share and look forward to speaking with each and every person who attends. Together we make a difference!!!
