Why a Wildfire Safety Expo?

Wildfire seasons are longer, hotter, and more destructive than ever before and Solano County is vulnerable.

Two and half years ago parts of Solano County was ravaged by the LNU Lightning Complex Fire. Despite the heroic efforts of local firefighters and emergency personnel, the fire burned 42,000 acres and resulted in the destruction of 309 homes and 854 structures in Solano County alone.

Recently, CAL FIRE adjusted the fire hazard severity zones elevating the potential risk to rural parts of Solano County and surrounding areas. Residents who live within city limits are also at risk especially in the event of another catastrophic wildfire.

It takes a community to reduce our risk of wildfire. The WildFire Safety Expo will provide the information, tools, and resources for residents to take action for a Fire Safe Solano.

The WildFire Safety Expo is a collaborative effort between the Green Valley Fire Safe Council, Pleasant’s Valley Fire Safe Council, CAL FIRE, local Fire Departments, and Fire Protection Districts along with many other agencies.

The Expo is made possible by our generous sponsors and partners: Christopherson Builders, Solano Resource Conservation District, Meter.Me, The Halter Project, The Green Valley Landowners Association, Solano Community College, Jerah Frye Native Habitat Restoration, Paradise Valley Estates, and Turf Star Western/Ventrac.
